I love conceptual portrait photography in general, and as simple as this photo is, it sends its message loud and clear through your technical prowess. First, there's the composition: not only is the model placed perfectly in the frame, but the mirror image compliments her delightfully. The lines in the window and on the right give the picture an appropriate sense of structure. Second, the mirror image itself: it's beautifully mysterious and sad, capturing the theme in your description so perfectly.
